Melanie Burns created Wicked Good Yoga as part of the Snow Squall Inn, to offer guests and members of the local community an opportunity to experience meditation, yoga, and massage in a peaceful, safe, and relaxed setting. Melanie experienced her first yoga class with Baron Baptiste at the Baptiste studio in Cambridge in 2000, and agrees with the Boston Magazine article quoting Alyssa Sullivan, a trained ballet dancer and a longtime aerobics instructor . "After class, you feel like you've just had a massage, went to church, had sex, and worked out," she says. "It's the real deal."
Melanie has since attended eight Baptiste Teacher Trainings. " When I meditate and do yoga I find that I have more clarity and openness, which allows me to be more present for the people in my life, the work that I do, and the experiences I have, and I am more open to new possibilities for being of service to others. My intention in opening the studio is to offer services that allow people to awaken their own healing powers and tune into their essential nature so they can more deeply listen to and follow their own unique path. "
Melanie is a Licensed Massage Therapist with a BA in Psychology from Clark University. She and her husband, professional chef Paul Harris, own and operate the Snow Squall Bed and Breakfast. |
