Wicked Good Yoga in Wiscasset announces
Workshops and additional classes


Wiscasset’s own Wicked Good Yoga, offering Baptiste inspired Hot Power Vinyasa Yoga, restorative, and healing workshops, will be offering several special classes and workshops in February and March. All proceeds from yoga classes held on Sunday February 12th - “Yoga opens your heart to love”- will be donated to Friends of Thai Daughters, a charity founded by Maine’s own Jane McBride to prevent child trafficking in the Golden Triangle and empowering at-risk girls and young women to acquire the education, self confidence, and leadership skills necessary to become leaders in the fight against exploitation. Partner Yoga Workshop: Compassionate Communication
Date: Sunday February 5th
Time: 2-4PM
Teachers: Hoa Tran and Kevin Wicks
$25 per person, $50 per couple

Treat yourself and your partner like the sacred temples of the divine that you really are. Doing yoga with a partner is one of the most profound ways to enhance your relationship to your Self and to your partner. By using asanas, mudras, pranayama and meditations to sync your energies with your partner, you create a powerful compassion between the two of you that transcends your physical, mental,and emotional bodies. As you give it, so you will receive it. Open to all levels ( not for children ). Wear clothes fit for movements.

“Restorative and Yoga Nidra”

Date: Sunday February 12th - class limited to 10 people, please register in advance

Restorative poses are an excellent complement to the more intense physicality of power vinyasa classes or traditional sports workouts. During this time you will be guided into restorative poses using soft bolster or blankets, allowing your muscles, joints, ligaments and bones to relax deeply into supported poses.  The class will begin with a brief meditation and end with Yoga Nidra, a guided deep yogic sleep that has tremendous benefits to the nervous system, promoting deep, restful calm. This two hour workshop is $25. Sharon Miller is a Kripalu trained yoga teacher and a cardiac rehabilitation nurse, with a deep understanding of the practice and benefits of yoga. All proceeds from this class and from all classes on Sunday February 12th will be donated to Friends of Thai Daughters charity. Please register in advance, this very popular class sells out quickly and is limited to 10 people. We will also have a restorative workshop on Sunday February 26th.


New Moon Kundalini Yoga and Gong Meditation
Date: Tuesday February 21st
Time: 7:30 -9:00 PM
Teacher: Satjeet Kaur
$20 per person

Tune in to the power of Kundalini Yoga, one of the most ancient forms of yoga, combining mantra (sound), mudra (hand position), pranayam (breath work), asana (posture/movement) and meditation.  Kundalini Yoga is often called the "Yoga of Awareness."  This class will tap into the energy of the new moon and focus on alignment and setting intentions. We will conclude with a deep meditation to the sound of the gong. The gong represents the very first sound in the universe. As the sacred sound current penetrates your body and mind, it balances and rejuvenates the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, creating a cleansing shift in your energy and emotions. This is a powerful form of vibrational healing.

Yoga Backbending Workshop
Date: Sunday March 4th
Time: 2:00 - 4:00 PM
Teacher: Murielle Corwin
$25 per person

Backbends are often referred to as the “fountain of youth” as they keep the spine supple and flexible, promoting health and youthful vitality. This workshop will offer a warm up vinyasa flow and individual hands on assists for support of proper alignment and a deepening of the experience of the poses in your own body. We will work with large exercise balls to support the opening of the chest, and with supports and blocks to move into poses.   Moving gently and mindfully, this very experienced teacher will guide and work with you oln poses with the best alignment and modifications for your body. This two hour workshop is $25. Murielle Corwin is a former ballet dancer, and talented and experienced teacher of yoga, ballet, and gymnastics. Murielle also teaches hot power vinyasa classes at Wicked Good Yoga.

Gentle Yoga

Date: Every Thursday beginning February 9th
Time: 9:30 -11AM
Teacher: Sharon Miller
$14 per class, $12 per class with 10 class card

This class is suitable for beginners and experienced yogis of all levels, and will be done in a warm (not hot) room between 75-80 degrees. Sharon Miller is a Kripalu trained yoga teacher and a cardiac rehabilitation nurse, with a deep understanding of the practice and benefits of yoga.
